ABOUT JESSICA STRONACH

A freelance writer who understands the reality of leading content in tech

Things change at lightning speed in B2B SaaS companies - it's what makes them so exciting.

But when must-do tasks fly in unexpectedly, executing on your content strategy often heads straight to the bottom of the to-do list.

I know because I’ve been there.

With over 15 years' experience and two Managing Editor roles under my belt, I know that leading a tech content team can be tough.

Now I’m here to help with my signature offer of long-form content writing with a side of strategic thinking.

Helping content leaders deliver on their strategies, solve their problems and smash their goals

I don't just help my clients by writing content. I’m here to help them work out how to solve their problems and achieve their goals. That might look like:

Planning content to meet specific content marketing goals like increasing traffic or generating leads

Creating or optimizing internal content production processes

Working out how to approach a content categorisation project

Planning a big refresh to breathe new life into outdated content

My superpower is helping content leaders work out what they need to do ... and then doing it!

And of course there's the additional pleasure of working with
Jess - a real bonus!”

My story

Until late 2023, my career had followed a pretty traditional path. I worked my way up through various content roles until I was Managing Editor, leading a team of talented in-house content writers and managers for an award-winning accounting software platform.

But after nine years with the same wonderful company, I wanted something different..

It took me a while to figure out what that was, but when the opportunity to start my own business came up, something just clicked!

For me, freelancing has unlocked a whole new level of energy and motivation, which I bring to each and every client project.

I love to untangle complex topics through content and deliver "a-ha" moments" that inspire buyers and users to continue their learning journeys.

With an eagle eye for detail and a *high* bar for quality, I write with an editor's eagle eye for detail and I edit with a writer's curiosity and flair.

And I love bringing all the knowledge I’ve built over the years to help content leaders in tech teams smash their goals, wow their stakeholders and lead high-performing operations.

Here are five bonus facts about me:

I’ve run 15 marathons and two full marathons - and have all the medals (and injuries) to prove it!

Originally from North Yorkshire, I've lived in Scotland since 2003 - so you may struggle to place my accent!

I’ve wanted to work with words for as long as I can remember. When I was little, I wanted to be a newsreader - British broadcasting icon Moira Stewart was my hero!

Before I began my content career, I was an HR recruitment consultant. It’s stood me in great stead for building a business supporting people-focused tech companies.

I love to travel – but nothing beats the feeling of coming home!
